Position

The claims operations department at WCF Insurance has an immediate opening for someone who can demonstrate the WCF values to join their team as a Medical Case Manager reporting to the Manager, Medical Case Management. This is a full-time, exempt position that trains out of WCF’s Sandy, Utah headquarters. This may become a home-based position after training. The visits will be mainly Salt Lake, Davis, and Weber counties with an occasional need to travel to other areas.

  

Responsibilities 

The Medical Case Manager provides on-site, specialized medical case management services to injured workers with complex injuries. The person in this position drives to and attends injured worker medical appointments throughout the Wasatch Front mostly Salt Lake, Davis, and Weber Counties. Occasionally there is the need to travel to other locations. The Medical Case Manager will also help the injured worker with healthcare providers and coordinate all medically approved services. The Medical Case Manager assesses, plans, implements, coordinates, and monitors medical services for injured workers with complex injuries. The Medical Case Manager utilizes the nursing process and implements the case management process in day-to-day work activities and communicates with injured workers, providers, adjusters, and other contacts to coordinate all medically approved services. The person in this position also provides documentation of medical rehabilitation plans, progress, and recovery.

  

Qualifications 

  • Graduate from an accredited RN program with current Utah license.
  • At least three years of clinical experience in ICU/critical care, rehabilitation, orthopedics, home health, community, or occupational health.
  • At least one year of nurse case management experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of workers’ compensation system preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Spanish is a plus, but not required.
