Join us for this focused conference highlighting what you absolutely, positively need to know about YOUR Utah Nurse Practice Act (NPA) and NPA Rule, strategies to ensure safeguarding your nursing license and supportive work group activity to discuss and create your individual professional plan.

Diane Forster-Burke, MSN, RN, Co-Chair of UNA’s Government Relations Committee and Andrew Nydegger, DNP, RN, CNE, UNA President Elect, will identify and explain select components of the Utah Nurse Practice Act (NPA) and NPA Rule to help participants understand unprofessional conduct, how health care organizations are responsible for ensuring safe nursing practice, and other select elements governing RN practice in Utah.

UNA is excited to include conference Guest Speaker, NSO Jennifer Flynn, CPHRM, Vice President, Risk Management, Aon Affinity, Healthcare Division who, as a Certified Professional Healthcare Risk Manager for NSO, has a comprehensive view of the types of actions/inactions that jeopardize RN licensure and specific strategies to mitigate those circumstances.  She will share the most frequent situations nurses face that put their license at risk and/or that result in malpractice litigation and steps to guard against them.

As a part of registration, you are asked to indicate your #1 risk management concern about safeguarding your license.  This is voluntary and responses will help the speakers tailor information accordingly to make sure your concerns are addressed.   There will also be time for in-conference questions and answers.

Note that UNA, in collaboration with the Utah Nurses Foundation and with sponsorship of Arthur L. Davis Publisher, is able to offer this conference FREE to all interested Utah nurses.  Registration is now open and you are respectfully requested to register by Monday, October 17th.  CNE credit is not available for this program.
