Exploring Utah Nurses’ Safety in the Workplace

UNA invites all Utah nurses and nursing students to participate. Student scholarships are automatically awarded upon registration to partially cover the Conference fee.

UNA’s Fall Conference will focus on workplace and medication safety. We are excited to host RaDonda Vaught, BSN, live via video, on “Criminalizing Medication Errors” to share her experience and takeaways in an hour presentation and 30-minute Q&A.

  • Scott Christensen, PhD, MBA, APRN, ACNP-BC, Sr. Nursing Director and Nurse Scientist at the University of Utah Health Hospitals and Clinics on “Breaking the Silence: Speaking Up About Workplace Violence”

  • Brittania Doxstader, MSN, BSN HAS, RN, Clinical Risk and Safety Manager (ED/Trauma /Behavioral Health Continuum), Intermountain Health  on “Voices for Safety.”

  • Chris Snyder,  Chief of Police (Ret.), Associate Director, University of Utah Health Security on “Protecting the Protectors: Five Safety Tips for Nurses”

  • Rebecca Blair-Stevenson, DNP, MSN-Ed, MS-Epi, RN, CNE, Chair, UNA Government Relations Committee on “UNA Focus on Workplace Violence: Current Efforts at the  State Level”

  • Luisa Echeverria, DNP, MSN, RN, UNA Representative to ANA Membership Assembly on ANA  Focus on Workplace Violence:  Report from ANA Hill Day 2025”

Audience engagement activities, including audience polling, Q & A, and breakout discussion sessions
are incorporated throughout the day.

The Conference is being jointly planned with the Accredited Provider, University of Utah Health, to provide Nursing Continuing Professional Development (NCPD) contact hours and to be available as an on-demand CNE course following the live presentation for those unable to attend the virtual Zoom. Attendees may earn 6.0 contact hours by attending the entire activity and completing the post-assessment
